The final edit of 'Visions' is done, and in a matter of days my third novel will be available for you to enjoy.

Just typing the words 'my third novel' gives me pause for thought.

It's been quite the journey.

A few years ago I never could have imagined the amount of literary work that I would have crafted.

As of writing this I've completed:

  • 3 short stories

  • 1 novella

  • 3 novels

🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯

Anyway, onto Visions:

Where did the idea for Visions come from?

As usual with my writing I didn’t plot this novel.

I started with a simple idea: what if someone was experiencing murders through a telepathic connection of some sort?

That’s it.

A dangling thread that wouldn’t let me leave it until I pulled at it, unravelled it, and created the story that I hope you'll be reading soon.

And you know what? I had a blast writing it.

Even with that simple thread of an idea, the scope of the novel grew into something that I couldn't have envisioned at the outset.

I really hope you'll be impressed with what I've crafted and that you'll be left feeling like it's added a layer to some of my previous work.

How could it possibly do that? I hear you ask.

The main reason? The return of Susan Reeves!

I'm not the sort of person to write a series of novels. My interests are too broad, perhaps, and I'm always thinking of the next thing.

What would I like to read? Does it exist? No? Okay, I'll write it.

That is how my mind works.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

I decided that I'd like to make a return to the crime thriller genre, but with this added supernatural twist, and who better to return than Susan?

When I finished writing 'She's Not The Only One', I really missed her, and I'm glad to have spent more time with her and been able to flesh out her character further.

She's quite a force.

If you've read my debut then I'm sure you'll adore this new addition to Susan's lore. 😍

My influences are on show in this third novel. Some examples of which: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Blake Crouch, The X-Files. All the while fused into a cocktail with a mash-up of BBC crime drama grit.

Visions blurb:

Here's the blurb for the novel to whet your appetite:

Becky Rose has been having Visions.

Of murders—brutal, intimate, impossible to unsee.

When a news report shows the face of a woman she watched die, Becky realises the murders are real — and fears she’s been witnessing them through someone else’s eyes.

Or worse — she’s reliving repressed memories of crimes she herself has committed.

In desperation, Becky turns to the police, who initially dismiss her as a fraud. Until Detective Susan Reeves discovers Becky’s descriptions match active crime scenes with chilling precision.

Does Becky share a connection with a serial killer?

And if she can see through their eyes… can they see through hers?

Whatever is happening to her, she can’t look away.
